121 FCU Visa Business Rewards Credit Card Review

Overview

The 121 FCU Visa Business Rewards is a visa card issued by 121 Financial Credit Union, based in Jacksonville, FL. As a credit union card, eligibility is usually tied to membership, which in turn is usually tied to where you live or who you work for. It is issued to businesses rather than to individuals.

If you are separating or co-parenting

These are the parts of this card that land differently when a household is becoming two. None of it is a recommendation — your own position decides that.

• Not a personal card. This is issued to a business rather than an individual, so it is not where to start rebuilding personal credit after a separation. It matters if you and your spouse are dividing a business you both own, which is a different question from household credit.
• Ask what it costs to hold. One income is now covering two households, so an annual fee is a fixed cost worth knowing before you apply rather than after. Fees change, so get the current figure from 121 Financial Credit Union.
• Ask about foreign transaction charges. Worth checking if your co-parent has moved abroad, or if parenting time involves travel and the costs are being shared.
• Points on spending that is already shared. A large share of post-separation spending goes on the children, and much of it is reimbursed between co-parents afterwards. Whichever parent’s card pays keeps the points, which is worth agreeing rather than discovering. What counts as a shared expense.
• Membership is restricted. Credit union eligibility is usually tied to where you live or who you work for. Check you still qualify if the separation involves a move, and before counting on this card as your plan.

Conclusion

This review covers what the 121 FCU Visa Business Rewards is and how its structure lands if you are separating or co-parenting. It deliberately does not quote an interest rate, an annual fee or a credit limit, because those are set by 121 Financial Credit Union, vary with your own creditworthiness, and change often enough that any figure printed here would be out of date before you read it.
