Alliance Credit Union Max Cash Secured Visa Card Credit Card Review

Overview

The Alliance Credit Union Max Cash Secured Visa Card is a visa card issued by Alliance Credit Union, based in St. Louis, MO. As a credit union card, eligibility is usually tied to membership, which in turn is usually tied to where you live or who you work for.

If you are separating or co-parenting

These are the parts of this card that land differently when a household is becoming two. None of it is a recommendation — your own position decides that.

• A deposit instead of a credit history. A secured card asks for a refundable deposit rather than an established file, which is the usual way to open a first account in your own name. What to sort out before you apply.
• Ask what it costs to hold. One income is now covering two households, so an annual fee is a fixed cost worth knowing before you apply rather than after. Fees change, so get the current figure from Alliance Credit Union.
• Membership is restricted. Credit union eligibility is usually tied to where you live or who you work for. Check you still qualify if the separation involves a move, and before counting on this card as your plan.

Conclusion

This review covers what the Alliance Credit Union Max Cash Secured Visa Card is and how its structure lands if you are separating or co-parenting. It deliberately does not quote an interest rate, an annual fee or a credit limit, because those are set by Alliance Credit Union, vary with your own creditworthiness, and change often enough that any figure printed here would be out of date before you read it.

For the current terms, go to Alliance Credit Union directly. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau also publishes a free card comparison tool built from terms that issuers report twice a year, which is a better place to compare rates than any review page.
