Amarillo National Bank Visa Classic Secured Card Credit Card Review

Overview

The Amarillo National Bank Visa Classic Secured Card is a visa card issued by Amarillo National Bank, based in Amarillo, TX.

If you are separating or co-parenting

These are the parts of this card that land differently when a household is becoming two. None of it is a recommendation — your own position decides that.

• A deposit instead of a credit history. A secured card asks for a refundable deposit rather than an established file, which is the usual way to open a first account in your own name. What to sort out before you apply.
• Ask what it costs to hold. One income is now covering two households, so an annual fee is a fixed cost worth knowing before you apply rather than after. Fees change, so get the current figure from Amarillo National Bank.
• Ask about the balance transfer rate. This card has carried an introductory balance transfer offer. That matters if your decree assigns you a share of a joint card balance, because moving the balance onto an account in your own name is what actually separates the liability — the decree binds your former spouse, not the bank. Why the decree does not bind your creditors.

Conclusion

This review covers what the Amarillo National Bank Visa Classic Secured Card is and how its structure lands if you are separating or co-parenting. It deliberately does not quote an interest rate, an annual fee or a credit limit, because those are set by Amarillo National Bank, vary with your own creditworthiness, and change often enough that any figure printed here would be out of date before you read it.
